Bobbatlu This typical dessert from Andhra Pradesh is usually prepared on special occasions.

Ingredients :
1 cup chana dal
2½ cups jaggery (gud)
1 cup wheat flour (atta)
½ cup water
2 cups oil for frying

Method of Preparation :
Boil the chana dal.
Powder the jaggery and mix it with the cooked chana dal; cook for a few more minutes.
Make balls (the size of golf balls) with this mixture and set aside.

Mix the wheat flour with water and roll out chapattis.
Put one ball of the chana dal mix between two chapattis and flatten. Then roll into a medium-sized disc, slightly larger than puris.
Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry lightly. Serve when cool.
