Banana Upside Down Cake is a sweet cake or pudding. In the finished dish, the cooked banana often appears purplish-red in color.
Ingredients :
1 ½ large bananas or 2-3 small ones (cut into rounds) 2 eggs 1 heaped cup of plain flour 1 cup of fresh cream ¾ cup sugar 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp of vanilla essence A little butter 2 tbsp sugar
Method of Preparation :
Mix the cream and sugar. Add eggs and mix well. Sieve flour and baking powder together and add this little by little to the cream mixture. Then add vanilla essence.
Dot a non-stick pan with butter and sprinkle 2 tbsp of sugar and arrange fruit over it. Finally put the cake mixture on top and keep the pan on the stove and close the lid.
Raise the heat for the first 3 minutes and then lower the heat and cook for about 20 minutes. Turn it on a plate and serve with cream or just a cake. Fresh pineapple or apples could be used.
